Senior Field Service Technician

Role Overview

Reporting to the Field Service & Quality Assurance Manager, the Senior Field Service Technician is responsible for inspecting and servicing the company’s and other manufacturer’s equipment assuring quality product performance.  Address and resolve questions and issues regarding products of various types with guidance, as necessary.  Capable of servicing and understanding all related industry equipment with high levels of complexity.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible to provide the highest level of support and handling the most difficult or advanced problems.
  • Maintain technical service expertise to assist in the research and development of solutions to new or unknown problems.
  • Demonstrate high level electrical wiring and controls knowledge and possess a broad mechanical understanding and background.
  • Electrical: 3 phase wiring, control wiring, understanding of: limit switches, pressure and flow sensors and transducers, proximity switches, level sensors, trouble-shooting of single and 3 phase wiring, set-up of temperature controller, set-up of variable frequency drives, use basic volt/amp/ohm meters.
  • Mechanical: able to read and understand blueprints and schematics, basic of alignment of conveyor shafts, basic of bearing installation, alignment and lubrication, tensioning and aligning v-belt and chain drives, know how to use: basic power and hand tools.
  • Responsible for installing, inspecting and starting-up company manufactured equipment at customer sites according to specifications and drawings.
  • Responsible for servicing all company products at customer sites; testing, troubleshooting, and adjusting as needed.

Role Overview

While under the direction of the Electrical Team Lead (when in house) and the Service Manager (when in the field), the Level “B” Assembler performs basic electrical aspects of the assembly of all product lines. Performs wiring and assembly operations involving intricate and precise equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Working from drawings, blueprints and verbal instructions perform basic skilled electrical assembly, ensuring the highest level of quality while meeting job schedule, estimated hours, and customer specifications.
  • Identify and locate correct materials from blueprints to pull from stock and/or job baskets.
  • Install and/or mount electrical components on equipment.
  • Terminate cables, troubleshoot electrical circuits, layout panels, drill and tap holes and route cables.
  • Perform motor, transformer wiring and some basic mechanical functions.
  • Select, cut, form, and install wiring accordance with specifications.
  • May provide direction to and assist in the training of new hires at or below “B” Assembler level as instructed.

Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist

Role Overview

Under the direction of the Operations Manager the EHS Specialist is responsible for ensuring that employees at all locations of the company can complete their work safely. Responsible to set safety standards for the workplace based on legal requirements and train employees in order to understand these rules. Monitor working conditions and resolve any safety issues that may arise.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensures the workplace is in compliance with OSHA and Environmental industry specific regulations.
  • Manage OSHA 300 logs for annual posting and other reporting.
  • Work with Operations management to identify training needs; research and schedule all training identified. Adhere to the safety training plans, execute new hire safety orientation and support in role specific safety evaluations such as evacuations, proper use of PPE, etc.
  • Update safety policies and manuals.
  • Coordinate all aspects of safety, safety equipment requirements, first aid, CPR and OSHA training programs for all company locations.
  • Coordinate and monitor First Responder program. 
  • Conduct safety observation inspections and/or attend safety walks and inspections to analyze safety risks.
  • Educate employees on safety standards and expectations. Have a positive influence on the safety culture by administering engaging and supporting trainings for employees across all locations.
  • Observe plant operations and make recommendations for additional safety training programs.
  • Work with management to improve safety training, safety awareness and safety training programs.  Monitor the effectiveness of training programs.
  • Maintain Safety Data Sheet (SDS) electronic database.  Maintain confined space permits and air monitoring equipment. Maintain required regulatory records/documentation for OSHA, EPA and DNR.
  • Organize and lead company’s safety committee to identify safety initiatives and corrective action plans.
  • Responsible for all injuries and accidents, ensuring all involved provide detailed information and/or statements, complete all necessary paperwork within the required timeframe and notified appropriate personnel of pertinent details.

Service Administrator

Role Overview

Under the direction of the Aftermarket Division Manager, the Service Administrator is responsible to support the needs of Aftermarket group in a professional, efficient, effective and timely manner.  This role provides administrative support in the coordination of service scheduling and documentation with technicians and customers.  Assists with other tasks related to spare parts fulfillment, project proposals and order processing.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Directly impact the overall success of our business by providing exceptional service to all customers as a top priority.
  • Maintain accurate recordkeeping, with excellent communication, organization and efficient planning.
  • Assist the Service Manager with prioritizing the work order schedule and ensure all work orders are closed in a timely fashion.
  • Creates and dispatches work orders for scheduling of planned maintenance and service.
  • Coordinates parts and materials for service work orders.
  • Assist with ensuring that accurate and detailed service reports are completed in a timely manner to allow for accurate invoicing and job cost tracking.
  • Communicate directly and work closely with the service department, technicians and customers regarding pending, ongoing and completed service jobs.
  • Serve as an assistant in the department to help with tasks that require further updating or managing in multiple systems.

  • Focus and Direction: Accepting of interruptions and able to refocus and stay on task. Must be able to take direction as well as instill a proactive, self-directed approach to ensure daily requirements are fulfilled and projects are completed in an efficient and timely manner.   • Analytical Aptitude:  The ability to read, analyze and interpret complex documents such as blueprints, schematics, customer specifications, routings, work orders, engineering drawings, safety regulations, and operating and maintenance instructions.  Possess the ability to see a problem or situation from different points of view and be able to solve complex problems and make timely decisions in the most effective way.
  • Driving Requirements: Must maintain a valid state driver’s license, have access to reliable transportation and carry the state minimum required auto insurance.  Must be able to drive company vehicles and transport materials as required. Local travel required including working at various facilities.
  • Technology: Proficient with Microsoft Office suite of products required with ability to learn and understand new company software system and maintain efficiency as updates are installed. Basic software and smartphone technology including email, internet and calendaring applications and able to functionally use emerging technologies to support business needs.
  • Hours and Work Environment: Individual must meet or exceed job requirements and company expectations.  Must be able to work a minimum of 40 hours per week with the ability to work overtime as necessary.

Education and Experience

  • High School diploma or equivalent required, additional education preferred.
  • 3 to 5 years of related experience in an industrial manufacturing environment preferred. 
  • Prior experience in service and repair or warranty related field preferred.
