Application Engineer

Role Overview

Under the direction of the Application Engineering Manager, the Application Engineer is responsible for supporting the sales team through the development of equipment/system concepts, technical documentation/engineering support and evaluation of competitive project costs. Support engineering and manufacturing teams through project management oversight and facilitating customer communication.    

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Review request for quotes (RFQ)’s for completeness and develop project specific question list for submittal to customer.
  • Clarify project RFQ scope requirements accomplished through scheduled meetings with sales and/or the customer.
  • Review and qualify customer specifications.
  • Perform process development testing: develop product specific test procedures and set-up test apparatus.  Interface with manufacturing and Quality Assurance (QA) to ensure proper test set-up.  Generate and present test reports.
  • Perform engineering calculations.  This would include product heating/cooling load calcs, recirculation air calcs, strength of materials calcs, transmission calcs.
  • Research and qualify vendor/manufacturer components for concept designs.  Schedule vendor product demonstrations.
  • Generate 2D sales drawings and/or Solidworks models of equipment/system concepts as wells as supporting ancillary components.
  • Generate budgetary and firm project costs with competitive price considerations in mind to include base equipment pricing, optional pricing such as integrated systems, international shipping, and equipment installation.
  • Order entry: review purchase order contract and develop internal and external job order documentation.  
  • Project management: schedule and lead job kick-off meeting, develop customer Gantt charts through coordination with engineering and manufacturing, generate and maintain project open items list, facilitate internal/external status update meetings with project team and customer, monitor job costs and update project team of cost deviations, generate sales change documentation and generate final job cost documentation and schedule post job meeting.  Coordinate the procurement of customer product, generate factory acceptance testing (FAT) agenda, and assist sales with customer interface.
  • Responsible for facility cleanliness and maintain departmental housekeeping standards.

Accounts Payable Associate

Role Overview

The Accountants Payable Associate is responsible for performing accounting and clerical duties related to the efficient maintenance and processing of accounts payable transactions.     

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Receive and process all accounts payable invoices through purchase orders and manual postings.
  • Match internal receiving documents to vendor invoices ensuring completeness and accuracy of invoices.
  • Monitor all accounts to ensure payments are current and up-to-date. Assist in the resolution of issues or concerns with vendors pertaining to the reconciliation of purchase orders to invoice.
  • Accurate coding, entry, and verifying of daily payable invoices via electronic and manual means.

Painter - West Allis Location

Role Overview

Under the direction of the Mechanical Team Lead, Painters are responsible for applying paint, varnishes, and similar coatings to materials.  Painters are also responsible for cleaning and preparing surface to be painted, removing previous finishes which may include sandblasting, and cleaning up of the area after each step of preparation and painting once completed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Paint and apply finishing coats in accordance to blueprints and/or customer specifications.
  • Must be able to operate basic painting equipment such as cup guns, paint pots and conventional spray guns.
  • Must be experienced in mixing various paints, varnishes, and lacquers.
  • Must be able to work with solvents.
  • Must be familiar with painting on industrial steel surfaces such as structural, piping, and horizontal walls.
  • Able to match paint for touch-ups or small projects.
  • Prepare surfaces for paint including but not limited to grinding, scraping, and sanding.
  • Set-up and maintain work areas and operate painting equipment in accordance to safety procedures.
  • Record and report working hours and material usage as instructed.
  • Inspect paint jobs and materials, adjusting colors and fixing defects.
  • Organize and participate in the prepping and unmasking of sub-assemblies and equipment before and after the painting process.

Role Overview

Reporting to the Field Service & Quality Assurance Manager, the Senior Field Service Technician is responsible for inspecting and servicing the company’s and other manufacturer’s equipment assuring quality product performance.  Address and resolve questions and issues regarding products of various types with guidance, as necessary.  Capable of servicing and understanding all related industry equipment with high levels of complexity.

  • Electrical: 3 phase wiring, control wiring, understanding of: limit switches, pressure and flow sensors and transducers, proximity switches, level sensors, trouble-shooting of single and 3 phase wiring, set-up of temperature controller, set-up of variable frequency drives, use basic volt/amp/ohm meters.
  • Mechanical: able to read and understand blueprints and schematics, basic of alignment of conveyor shafts, basic of bearing installation, alignment and lubrication, tensioning and aligning v-belt and chain drives, know how to use: basic power and hand tools.
  • Responsible for installing, inspecting and starting-up company manufactured equipment at customer sites according to specifications and drawings.
  • Responsible for servicing all company products at customer sites; testing, troubleshooting, and adjusting as needed.
  • Use various gauges, meters, and electrical testing equipment to check specifications.
  • Communicate with appropriate company employees regarding product issues to facilitate problem resolution.
  • Complete detailed service reports and all required records and documentation for customers and for the company.
  • Remain technically competent and keep current in new developments within the industry.
  • Assist in cross training existing employees and new hires.
  • Make recommendations regarding safe working methods.
  • Follow all clean-up and housekeeping procedures.
  • Comply with all safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Provide back-up for other positions in the department as assigned.
  • Promptly respond to inquiries to support individual, team and company success.
  • Continuous participation and engagement in process improvement strategies.
  • Perform various duties as requested by management.

Essential Job Requirements

  • Working Conditions: Regularly working near moving mechanical parts. Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electric shock and vibration. Noise level in certain work environments can be loud at times.  Must know how to use and wear required provided personal protective equipment (PPE) depending on environment and working conditions.
  • Physical Requirements: Frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or touch objects, tools, or controls, reach above shoulders, climb, or balance, and stoop, kneel or crouch and occasionally required to sit. Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Ability to operate a variety of small hand and power tools, the ability to operate electronic testing equipment.
  • Driving Requirements: Must maintain a valid state driver’s license, have access to reliable transportation and carry the state minimum required auto insurance. Must be able to drive company vehicles and transport materials as required.

  • Analytical Aptitude: The ability to read, analyze and interpret complex documents such as blueprints, schematics, customer specifications, warranties, company standards, operating maintenance instructions, routings, work orders, engineering specifications and safety regulations. 
  • Technology: Proficient with basic software and smartphone technology including email, internet, and calendaring applications and able to functionally use emerging technologies to support business needs. Understanding of controllers and drives including programming these devices and working with PLC and HMI’s. 
  • Hours and Work Environment: Individual must meet or exceed job requirements and company expectations. Must be able to work a minimum of 40 hours per week with the ability to work overtime as necessary.  Must maintain a flexible work schedule with possible varying shifts including nights and weekends.  Required to travel the majority of time which may include international travel.

Education and Experience

10+ years field experience, minimum 2-year technical degree at an accredited institution, or a combination of both education and experience.
