Post-Fire Pin Oven Retrofit

A global aluminum can maker experienced a fire in their pin oven, causing significant damage that rendered the equipment inoperable and halted production on the affected line. The incident created an urgent need for a fast yet comprehensive rebuild to restore operations while meeting all safety and performance standards.

HeatTek immediately sent a team to perform an onsite damage assessment and determine the fastest path to restoring operations. A detailed rebuild plan was developed to execute the work in the oven’s existing installed location, eliminating the delays of a full replacement. The project included complete re-insulation of the oven, installation of sub-assembled burner boxes with upgraded burners and modern gas trains, and targeted design improvements to enhance efficiency and safety. The project was coordinated to expedite delivery of components and minimize downtime.

Within weeks, the rebuilt pin oven returned to full operation, running safely, efficiently, and in compliance with current industry standards. The upgraded components improved energy efficiency, reduced maintenance needs, and increased reliability, while process consistency returned to pre-incident levels.
