Motor Manufacturer Improves Efficiency and Brings Operations to the US

An industrial motor manufacturer had always made a particular product line overseas. However, the end user of this product was pushing for the process to be brought to the United States. At the same time, this motor manufacturer was looking for an improved process that would decrease the amount of required stator cleanup without compromising stator slot fill.

HeatTek worked with the manufacturer to design and build a custom automated solution utilizing multiple heating methods for a condensed footprint.

HeatTek used a modified coating method that was better suited for the product. Prior to hiring HeatTek to develop this equipment, they had used the dip and bake coating method. In HeatTek’s Process Development Center, it was determined that the trickle coating method afforded the manufacturer higher precision, which ultimately decreased the necessary cleanup. This led HeatTek to design a system that used trickle coating, which achieved the improved efficiency they were looking for.

HeatTek also integrated product cooling into their process, which further aided their operations.

The customer is pleased with the equipment solution HeatTek provided. They are currently making quality products that meet their specifications. The customer has since contacted HeatTek for additional equipment to further expand operations
