Burner Replacement for Cleaner Combustion and Stronger Performance

A California-based aluminum can manufacturer needed to replace the burners in its washer dryers to comply with strict regional air quality regulations requiring nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions of less than 20 ppm. Meeting these requirements was critical, not only for regulatory compliance, but also for maintaining operating permits, avoiding potential fines, and supporting the company’s environmental stewardship goals.

HeatTek designed and implemented a custom-engineered burner replacement solution tailored to the washer dryer’s operating conditions. The upgrade included a precision-built plug assembly and firing tube, specifically designed to optimize combustion efficiency while minimizing NOx output. The system was engineered for seamless integration into the existing equipment, ensuring minimal downtime during installation. Performance testing and tuning were conducted onsite to verify emissions levels and confirm operational reliability.

The new burner system is operating well below the required <20 ppm NOx threshold, ensuring full compliance with California emissions standards.
